Chamber gives funds to area local schools
Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce officials Nov. 9 presented area local schools more than $17,000 of funds.
Each school received an equal portion of the funds to be used on items that students need such as equipment, technology, supplies and more, according to a release. The schools that received the funds included Rachel Patterson Elementary School, Escambia County Middle and High Schools, Escambia Academy, Atmore Christian School, Temple Christian and Huxford Elementary School.
Chamber President Emilee Waters and Executive Director Anna Norton visited each school.
“The chamber understands how much everyone has been affected by the struggles of 2020,” Norton said. “This is a way for us to invest where we see it most beneficial — our future. These students will grow up to become our future leaders, our future decision-makers, our future society. We gladly give to our future by giving back to our schools.”
